We Care About Our Patients

Learn More About Safe Dentistry in Coral Gables

We couldn’t be more excited to see you and your family at our Coral Gables dental office. Please know that the entire staff at University Dental Group has been working tirelessly to ensure your health and safety are a top priority, now more than ever before.

We want to reassure all of our patients that we never compromise when it comes to taking care of you and your oral health.

To further protect you and our team members, we’ll send you a health questionnaire for pre-screening prior to your appointment.

Personal Protective Equipment & More

Much like what we discussed for our sterilization and disinfection protocols, not much was necessary to improve upon what we already had in place prior to COVID-19.

You’ll probably notice that we are wearing the very same personal protective equipment (PPE) that we’ve always worn at our dental office in Coral Gables.

Our clinical team members are all still required to wear and fully equipped with gowns, gloves, face masks, face shields, and additional head coverings.

The good news for you is that nothing much should or will feel different for you or your family in terms of your health and safety.

Sterilization & Disinfection Procedures

Prior to COVID-19, our entire team went above and beyond every single day to sterilize and disinfect our office and tools.

That’s why we can tell you with certainty and confidence that nothing much required changing or updating in terms of our sterilization process.

Here’s how it currently works:

  • We submerge instruments in an enzyme solution for 25 minutes.
  • We then remove them from the solution and rinse them before bagging the instruments.
  • The instruments are placed in a sterilizer for 45 minutes at 275℉.
  • Our sterilizer is tested monthly to ensure that it is functional.
  • We wipe down the room with CaviCide™ — an antiviral/antibacterial solution.
