Making Your Own Version of a Sports Drink Can Spare Your Teeth Harm

A homemade sports drink.
There are a lot of health dangers associated with sports drinks. On top of them using ingredients that are not very harmonious with your body, they are also very acidic and can quickly cause damage to your teeth.

If you like the effects of a sports drink, but don’t want the negative side effects, consider changing the drink you reach for, and make your own!

How to Make Your Own Electrolyte Drink for After Workouts

Using processed sodium can hurt your body, and replaces very little when compared to unprocessed sea salt. The same goes with processed sugars. Instead, this recipe is going to provide your body with what it needs, and next to nothing that it won’t. Try this recipe out and see how you feel afterwards.

Start off with four cups of hot water, ideally tap water from a city-source so it has fluoride.

Then, you want to add one-quarter teaspoon of unprocessed sea salt, two teaspoons of raw honey, and one-quarter cup of fresh lemon juice. Mix all of these ingredients well, then chill them.

You can either pour them into water bottles before chilling, or just leave it in a pitcher that you pour as needed. You will replace far more electrolytes with this mixture, plus give your body a boost of natural energy that isn't going to cause a crash an hour or two later.

Giving your body a boost after working out is good, so long as you do it with natural ingredients. Try this instead of a sports drink for a week or two, and see if you notice a difference. If you do, then see if your dentist notices a difference at your next exam. If they do, tell them your new secret!
